Ladeja Godina: “Chile, by showcasing the circular economy roadmapping process, will definitely speed up the process in other countries”
Ladeja Godina Kosir, a Slovenian expert on circular economy, was one of Eurochile’s main advisers in the construction of the recently developed Circular Economy Roadmap. In this interview, she talks about the complexities that she has faced with the implementation of this type of instrument in her country, about her experience of the work carried out in Chile and the challenges that this entails. “Implementing the changes is an ongoing process and should be considered as “work in progress”.” Today, she says, when we are facing COVID-19 crisis, a circular economy roadmap can serve as one of guidelines towards more resilience and thriving future.

The director of the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture, FiBL affirms that today the reduction of the environmental impact of agriculture is imposed no longer as an ‘ideological’ option, but as an economic necessity. And in this line, he affirms, the increase of ecological agriculture or agroecology in Chile, due to its productive capacity, can represent an important competitive advantage.
MICE Antofagasta Tourism Project: adjusting the implementation to the pandemic context

New air quality monitoring network for Concón, Quintero and Puchuncaví will measure compounds such as benzene and hydrogen sulfide
Both the redesign of the area’s environmental monitoring network, as well as the new compounds that are included in the measurements, are part of the measures considered in the atmospheric decontamination plan prepared for these three areas -which together they gather 92,621 inhabitants- and which has been in force since March 2019, which places special emphasis on compounds derived from hydrocarbons. This type of gases, precisely, appeared in the first investigations as the main responsible for the massive poisonings registered in the area. The network will start operations in the second half of the year and its data will be available online.
